Garden at SGS K-8

We have continued our garden project at SGS K-8 and added a pumpkin patch this year. The students are learning about nutrition as well as what it takes to get food from the ground to the table. They are also learning recipes and healthy ways to prepare their favorite vegetables.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The students have picked vegetables, pulled weeds, and watered the garden. They have been very hands-on with this project.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Students are more likely to try vegetables that they have seen grown in their own garden.
