Sanders Elementary students have worked in the Sanders garden. The students planted and harvested chocolate peppermint, broccoli, and cabbage. It is a wonderful life experience to plant and watch the vegetables grow. They felt a sense of responsibility and accomplishment to weed and water the gardens. It was most exciting to harvest the finish product. We hope that it is an experience they repeat as adults to live a healthy life.

How did you accomplish your goals?

Classroom teachers took turns taking students to visit the garden to weed, plant, water & harvest the vegetables.
