Our Student Wellness Advisory Team marked their calendars to present, Garden to Market Day. The morning was spent harvesting their fresh and nutritious veggies in anticipation for their after-school Farmer's Market. In excitement of the market opening, there were samples of carrots for the parents and "littles" as people waited for opening sales. The day was full of smiles.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
SWAT worked along side FUTP 60 advisors to harvest, prep, and sell veggies.
How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?
The SWAT kids and their teacher have rotating vegetables for harvest season.
What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
There was more veggie harvest ripe than anticipated for the time and it took longer to prep, so teachers and advisors had to fill in as backup support.
