GENYOUth and Arizona Dairy Council Town Hall

Recently, students from Payson High School had the opportunity to participate in the GENYOUth and Arizona Dairy Council Town Hall. Arizona Fuel Up to Play 60 Ambassador and Payson student AB was the keynote speaker. She spoke to the opportunities and leadership the Fuel Up to Play 60 program has provided her. From a student who feared speaking in front of her 4th grade class, A gave a pronominal presentation in front of a packed audience, which included the Cardinals President, Michael Bidwill. TL and KH also attended and began their morning with a Channel 10 News spot with Calais Campbell from the Arizona Cardinals. All three students shared the variety of activities currently taking place at Payson High School and their vision for nutrition and physical activity improvement in the future.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Stakeholders from the Phoenix Metropolitan area converged at the Arizona Cardinals Training Facility to discuss Arizona’s youth. FUTP 60 students shared their school’s stories and educated business leaders on the importance of the program.

How did you accomplish your goals?

Students were broken into small groups with business leaders and worked to brainstorm how business leaders can make changes in Arizona. We walked away with a solid plan of action to move this important program forward.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

The greatest changes students have experienced is the personal contact they made. A, T, and K met very inspiring business leaders who offered assistance as they move Fuel Up to Play 60 to the next level at Payson High School.
