Get Up and Move and GoNoodle at Parkway Elementary in Alexander, AR is going down. Every morning before school, our students Get up and Move before their teachers come to get them for their day to begin in the classroom. From jumping rope and scooter to 4-square and hula hooping, we love to Get Up and Move. Also, in the classroom, teachers are giving their students brain breaks to stay focused during instruction. We love it at Parkway. Goooo Lions!!

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Teachers are noticing more focused and attentive students at the beginning of the day and they are excited about Get Up and Move days.

How did you accomplish your goals?

Working with morning duty teachers and para's to come up with a plan to get students moving and excited to come to school early. Instead of the students sitting for 30+ minutes waiting for their teachers, we had to do something for them, so Get Up and Move was born!
