Physical Activity Participation
Sand Creek Elementary does different activities to help students' brains and bodies. The entire school participates in short breaks for 3 to 5 minutes twice a day. The brain breaks are fun and helpful to our brains.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

This Play lasted because the brain breaks were fun. They provide movement and wake up your bodies and brains. Teachers also appreciate how on-task students are afterwards.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

One of the challenges we faced was providing alternatives for the older grades who felt that Go Noodle was too childish. Students opted to use Just Dance videos on YouTube. We also explored GoNoodle more deeply to find age-appropriate and relevant activities.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

We have noticed that students are energized, more focused in class, getting better grades, and more interested in exercising outside of school.
