Girls On the Run at Mountain Shadow
I made friends this year!!! I have teamed up with the Girls on the Run team. The girls are training for a 5K and have been refueling with dairy during their training. They are building "milk muscles"! The girls did a taste test to determine whether or not they could tell the difference between 1% and fat free milk. They decided both were great and that milk just "does a body good"! The GOTR team and I are training for our Family Math & Science Night. The girls will be running a bicycle smoothie making booth.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

My challenge was that I was new at Mountain Shadows school this year. I made sure that I was keeping an eye out for all opportunities to collaborate and get involved. I saw the GOTR group and decided to make a move. It has been awesome. The girls and their leaders are very motivated and amazing! They are training for a 5K and are learning how important it is to properly refuel your body. They are also training to lead the Blender Bike Smoothie Booth for Family Science/Math Night.
