Girls on the Run at South Fork

A group of girls in grades 3-5 are participating in Girls on the Run, 2 days of the week after school! Each practice is leading up to a 5k run in which the girls will participate in May!! The mission of Girls on the Run is: "We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running." Most of our students received scholarships in order to participate. The girls are learning how fun it is to exercise while seeing the importance of supporting one another! They are building strong relationships and are so excited to run each practice!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Girls on the Run coaches are there to support the girls. They are enthusiastic, which builds the girls excitement! They run with the girls and interact with them. Some coaches even bring students home after practices.
