GoNoodle and ActivityWorks Keep BelovED Active

As a way to help students stay active throughout the school day, teachers at BelovED Community Charter School in Jersey City, NJ, utilize exercise videos from GoNoodle and ActivityWorks to get scholars out of their desks and moving. These videos allow students to jump, run in place, dance, and simulate sports-related skills like throwing a football, shooting a basketball, or spiking a volleyball. Students have fun during these 10-15 minute energy breaks, and have an even better time when teachers get involved.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

The BelovED grade level lead teachers have made it a policy to provide students with in-class physical activity breaks, and will continue to utilize GoNoodle and ActivityWorks as ways to get students moving.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Students indicate they look forward to performing physical activities in the classroom, and it allows them to stay focused during instructional times throughout the school day.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Teachers often participate in the physical activities with the students, and often receive encouragement from the scholars to keep moving. Likewise, teachers often provide students with more than one in-class physical activity break per day.
