Good breakfast leads to Recess Success

With the funds we received from FUTP60, we were able to purchase a yogurt pump for our breakfast in the morning. Students are excited to come and try the different fruit that is available for them in their yogurt each morning. We have seen an increase in students eating breakfast in the morning because of the different healthy options we offer. We were also able to buy a regulation size soccer goal and some soccer balls to go with it. Students now have more variety during their recess to stay fresh and participate in many different activities.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We will continue to offer different types of yogurt and fruit during breakfast time. We will also take student feedback into consideration when making purchases about fruits and kinds of yogurt to keep them interested. We will also maintain the soccer goal and balls that the students are using and encourage them to change it up at recess.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

We have just finished constructing this school, so excitement for academics and staying active is huge. We just poured a new basketball court and will paint four square and hopscotch on the cement to give students a variety of activities during recess.

How did you accomplish your goals?

The funds we received from FUTP60 helped us immensely in achieving our goals. In the last two years, our playground equipment and soccer balls have improved and has brought excitement back to recess.
