The goal of our school was to increase our student breakfast participation. We encouraged students to eat breakfast every morning with the appropriate amount of diary intake. Whether they are at school or at home on the weekends, we wanted them to enjoy a healthy breakfast. Our school choose to do the Breakfast Grab and Go. Our cafeteria staff works hard in the morning to ensure there are enough bags for students to grab every morning. Students have a choice of milk (chocolate or vanilla), yogurt, raisins, and various other healthy choices in the morning. Our PE coaches and cafeteria staff collaborated together to make sure students had more healthy choices. Students eat their breakfast in their classrooms with their homeroom teachers.

There was a 14% increase in breakfast participation from our school.
How did you accomplish your goals?
The school staff helped achieve this goal by making sure each student received breakfast in the morning and we reminded them to eat breakfast on the days they were not at school. During health, we discussed healthy breakfast choices in which we included My Plate. During health lessons, we discussed with students the different types of diary they could include in their diet. Students created Cheese Hats with a diary fact on them during the lesson.
