Green Bay Packers Smoothies at Lunch

North Greenville Elementary School held its first smoothies at lunch event of the year. FUTP 60 student team members worked to create a healthy smoothie recipe that included dairy, fruits, and vegetables for students to sample during their lunch time. The event was held in conjunction with the Packers playing on Monday night football so they created a Green Bay Packers "Green Smoothie". The ingredients of yogurt, apples, grapes, banana, and spinach blended together to make a green healthy smoothie for students to sample. The feedback from students was great, they enjoyed the smoothie a lot even after being hesitant to try due to spinach being in it. Student team members worked in teams of two for three different lunch periods to hand out samples to over 350 students!

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We plan to have a smoothies at lunch event monthly for the remainder of the school year with each event using a different recipe that includes healthy choices of dairy, fruit, and vegetables.
