Groovy Smoothie
On Friday, December 7th, all grade level team leads provided their classmates a fresh fruit and yogurt smoothie during lunch. Our students are use to Icy and Slushy type smoothies so they were skeptical about trying the FUTP 60 Healthy Taste of the Week. The students made the smoothies, surveyed the cafeteria for taste testers and encouraged many of their classmates to give it a try. The event was a good first taste test event for our Gladiator Fuel Up to Play 60 Team.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The adults and students were flawless.

How did you accomplish your goals?

Everyone had a role to play. The advisor, Mrs. Pillow-Jones, bought the blender and consumables. The students assigned jobs to everyone, so everyone played a part in the execution of "Operation Groovy Smoothie."

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

Initially we were trying to provide smoothies to everyone and our budget could not accommodate an entire school. We ended up turning the event into a taste test which saved us money and every grade level was able to participate because we could afford to offer a taste test.
