Hawthorn Hill Tackles Tchoukball
Tchoukball is great at promoting physical activity in many different ways. All the players must be involved, both on offense and defense. Tchoukball requires alertness and concentration. It teaches anticipation and physics, as well as teamwork and trust. Tchoukball promotes eye-hand coordination and develops skills that enhance physical and mental output. Tchoukball is a great game that allows players to monitor their heart rate to ensure a healthy physical output. Tchoukball was taught as a unit activity and also used at recess. Students had the opportunity to join the after school Tchoukball club. This club promotes physical fitness through the sport of Tchoukball. Fun was had by all and a great physical activity learning experience was introduced.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We were borrowing another school's Tchoukeball set so we only had limited use. Now we have our own sets and will include this activity as a unit in our PE department, the sets will be used at recess and also we will continue the afterschool Tchoukeball Club. The nets are very sturdy and will last for many years.
