Hawthorne Hill Celebrates National Breakfast Week the Healthy Way!
Each day the students that ate breakfast got a prize in their bag. On the last day, Friday they got sunglasses and loved them!! We featured a whole grain long john that was decorated in the theme colors. The students loved them and so did the parents after we gave them the ingredients and nutritional information. Yogurt and cheese cubes were a big hit, along with mini pancakes and mini waffles that were whole grain. Grab & Go is set up in the hallway and students grab their bag and choice of milk and head to the classroom to eat. This has cut down on tardiness and the students are calm and ready to learn when the bell rings.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We decorated and used the School Nutrition Association's planning pack. We had fun things planned for each morning and the last day everyone got a pair of sunglasses.
