We did a Healthapalooza night at our school. Everyone in the community was invited not just our students and parents. We started off the night with a first grade music performance lead by our amazing music teacher. All of the songs promoted living a healthy lifestyle. Once the program was over the parents were invited to visit local vendors that provide services related to health and wellness. Some of the vendors were martial arts, High school culinary class, work out facilities, and local dentists and pediatricians. If the parents visited all of the vendors that evening, they would get to put their name in for some cool door prizes. During the time that their parents were visiting the vendors, the students went to the gym where they learned how to make new interesting healthy snacks from the culinary students. They were able to take part and watch martial arts demonstrations, and they were invited to go through the obstacle course. If they went through the obstacle course they would receive one raffle ticket, and could earn two more if they invited their parents to come and go through the obstacle course with them. This was a fun and successful night if health and wellness for all of the community to come and enjoy.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

By having the 1st grade students do their music performance the night of Healthapalooza, it helped the 1st grade students promote the event to their parents for us.
