Access to Healthy Foods, Community Involvement, Teamwork
Our campus hosts a CATCH Night annually and provides healthy snack and breakfast samples for students and parents to eat in order to promote their use at home. This year we added healthy smoothies for on the go meals. This was a huge success and the students loved to see that something healthy was also very tasty!
How did students and adults work together as a team?
The CATCH Night is a community event that we host each year. The event is run by teachers, parents and students. We had the smoothies donated from the community, handed out by parents and teachers of our students. We had students promote the healthy eating stations at the event so that the community could sample the healthy snacks from fruit to veggies to breakfast foods.
How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?
We are providing the breakfast samples in the cafeteria daily. This is a part of our breakfast menu.
