Healthy Food Scavenger Hunt

Students from St. John Nepomucene School traveled to Lincoln, NE, with their families to experience a farmer's market scavenger hunt! Once they had their mission, they visited with farmers asking questions about vegetables, fruits, and other healthy foods. When their list was completed, they received money to go out and purchase healthy foods to share at the Fuel Up to Play 60 Kickoff with the entire student body. The students gathered food from every food group! We had everything from watermelon radishes to ground lamb!

On the day of the Fuel Up to Play 60 Kickoff, half of the students of St. John's entered the X-Box Dance Competition. At the end of the day, the dance winners were announced at an all-school assembly and the students had the opportunity to taste the wonderful things brought to school by the scavenger hunt participants.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The Fuel Up to Play 60 team planned the activities for the scavenger hunt and Kickoff day. Parents, teachers, and students worked together to make these activities a HUGE success!!
