Our FUTP 60 team participated with members of the Loudoun Pediatric Obesity Coalition in their Healthy Living in Loudoun Event Day on Saturday, October 22, 2016. Our team presented posters depicting creative daily nutrition & fitness activities that they could do at home with family. The team also got the crowd to participate in a Nutritional Fitness Activity. The team really enjoyed the experience.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We plan on having all the 5th grade students create their own personal fitness/nutrition weekly calendar. I will collect them and make posters out of them and have the FUTP 60 team hang them around the school. I will also have the FUTP 60 team present mini fit activities on our morning news show.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Parents took time out of their busy Saturday to help support our FUTP 60 students that could make it to the event. Also teachers let the students lead Go Noodle instant classroom activities.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

The event was on a Saturday at the end of the football/soccer leagues playoffs. I did have 3 of the team show up because their parents worked around their activity schedule. I also find it hard to meet with the students because we can no longer have them come down during our "power up" break in the morning.
