Healthy Lunch for Everyone
We have started implementing lunches that give kids the option of having a salad and healthy foods. We're starting to see students who will take the salad and apples (or the fruit of the day) instead of taking a slice of pizza, or a burger. We're just giving students the healthier option during lunch now.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

I find that the students have been working harder during PE, and recess. They're also eating better. More and more kids are looking to become a part of the FUTP60 program, and I think that the program is motivating all of the students.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

The challenge was showing students that a salad can be just as satisfying as a pizza or sandwich. It's giving the kids more energy, and showing the kids that they will be just as full from a lunch of a salad as opposed to some alternative.
