Healthy Selfies
Promoting healthy eating habits all year also in conjunction with the 21 Day Challenge. Students can send in their Healthy Selfies from home or they can have the opportunity to take their selfie at lunch time with their healthy meal or side. Their picture is then printed and posted on the bulletin board for the whole school to see.

How did you accomplish your goals?

I have seen a definite change in the eating habits of the kids. They are going to our salad bar to get some of their favorite fruits and vegetables with their school lunch. Some of the children are even going to the salad bar to get a side if they brought their own lunch.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

I set up the camera on the stage in the cafeteria for the kids to use during their lunch time. They can continue to take a selfie as long as their meal/snack falls in the parameters of being healthy that we spoke about in class. I am also continuing to allow any healthy submissions from home with a healthy snack or meal.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The parents helped out and had some great success stories such as getting their children to eat their vegetables during their meal time and the teachers were helping keep their students accountable with the healthy selfie camera.
