Healthy Snacking

Students who attended our school's annual Pumpkin Run celebrated in the gym with a dance party and a healthy snack! The snack was a healthy "candy corn" cup, which consisted of pineapple chunks, no-sugar added mandarin oranges, and lite cool whip on top!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Our Coordinated School Health team helped supervise the dance party and the PE teacher discovered the snack on Pinterest! Our teachers promoted the Pumpkin Run in their classrooms and student STLP group promoted the race on their morning broadcast.

How did you accomplish your goals?

Sending home flyers, talking it up in class, getting others involved.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

The students on our FUTP 60 team plan on talking to homeroom teachers and students about the importance of providing healthy snacks for students at parties, as rewards, and to our PTO for different fundraising events.
