Rousseau and Rousseau Nutrition Services Department used the FUTP 60 funds to help pay for a yogurt parfait bar and events during National School Breakfast Week. Funds provided snacks during NESA testing and a snack break during Field Day. Funds have also been designated for POS equipment purchase for the cafeteria. Students and teachers alike were appreciative of the snacks for students before the rigorous state testing. The healthy snacks gave us a quiet, calm, and nutritious moment before we began. The healthy snack helped "activate" our brain!! A station for our Annual Field Day was a water and banana break!! Scholar Athletes know that we must always fuel or bodies and our brains!! Rousseau also used our FUTP 60 funds for small playground equipment, a recumbent exercise bike, and "movement rockers" for our classrooms. Our goal at Rousseau is to meet the needs of ALL students. We needed to keep students in the classroom, but still provide those that needed it a chance to move while learning! The exercise bike and movement chairs helped us meet that goal! We also had students that didn't enjoy soccer or basketball, but still needed to be active throughout recess!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Our team consists of our administration, our Food Service Manager, our Physical Education teacher, our Fuel Up to Play 60 Coach from the Midwest Dairy Association, and two classroom teachers. We all come from different perspectives with the same goal in mind. That goal is to help our students be Active, Happy, and Healthy!!
