Here in Orlando, this elementary school is home to over 420 energetic students who absolutely love to get active! The FUTP 60 grant was used to purchase SPARK PE curriculum, trainings, and equipment for our school. We held our Kickoff event during each physical education class to promote Fuel Up to Play 60 and to describe the multiple ways to lead a healthy lifestyle. We allowed the students to determine some lifestyle choices that they can make at home to become the best version of themselves. The students were excited about identifying changes they could make and wanted to share those ideas with their families and friends. Following our lecture on healthy choices, the students were given the chance to get moving and get active with some recess activities.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

During the recess time, students were given the opportunity to be the "teacher" and demonstrate the games that they enjoy during their free time. The students really enjoyed seeing their teachers playing and engaging in their favorite activities. Every single person was moving outside in our P.E. area and everyone, students and teachers alike, got a good workout!
