The GMS FCCLA students found a recipe and made homemade granola bars for March 10th National Breakfast Week Activities for the student body to taste.

How did you accomplish your goals?

400 students got hooked on homemade granola bars on the last day of National Breakfast Week. They received toasted oats, with seeds, and dried fruit granola bars to start their morning.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

Students at our middle school resist whole grain products sometimes and loved the granola bars. They couldn't believe that you could make your own granola bars. Staff members asked for the recipe, so we influenced them too and many of them are now motivated to cook, which they usually don't do.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Every student had a little breakfast on March 10th.
