Hoops 4 Heart School-Wide Tournament

We stepped up to the plate and initiated Hoops 4 Heart School-Wide. We are encouraging all to 'Get Positively Involved' and participate to benefit our community as well as our bodies. We will have a champion from each class. At an assembly in March, all champions will compete against staff to see who is the Bednarcik Grand Champion.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Our students are gaining more ownership over their learning and it has helped to improve the climate of our school.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We reached out to Hoops 4 Heart and a representative came to our school to hold an initial presentation for all students. Students will collect donations for their achievements. We also initiated a friendly competition between classes and will hold the final competition live in front of the entire student body during an assembly.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We are looking at increasing the number of activities in which our students can get positively involved. We would eventually like to do this quarterly.
