I mustache you love dairy products?

We were fortunate to invite the American Dairy Association to our middle school, and they brought the Milk Mustache Booth. At lunchtime, without interrupting the regular school day schedule, the Fuel Up to Play 60 team had the milk mustache booth. Each lunch table of students in grades 6, 7, and 8 were invited to bring their lunch table group to the booth, get a milk mustache, and pose for a photo. Not only did the students love this entertaining activity, but so did the staff and administration. The Milk Mustache Booth did not hand out individual photos; instead we downloaded the photos. We gave the flash drive to our media specialist, who quickly added them to our within-the-building television system before the end of that school day. Students, staff, and administrators stood at the television, pointed, laughed, and had great fun watching milk mustache photo after milk mustache photo come up. In addition, our media specialist submitted all of the photos to our school district website. News traveled quickly - there were tons of LIKES and comments about this fun day at our school. This is an event that our students and staff are still talking about. YES, Roth Middle Schoolers do love their dairy products!

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

Photos from this event are featured throughout the school. They are going to be in the school yearbook. They are on the district web page. They are hanging in teachers' classrooms.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

We did not give out individual or group photos - instead they were loaded onto a flash drive and the photos were posted from there.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We accomplished our goal through careful planning and teamwork.
