Innovative Idea: Snack Cart
Our State Ambassador, who attended the summit last year, won the Innovative Challenge by presenting a snack cart idea. We have now seen this idea take off and become a staple in our school. We had students who were going over 5 hours without fueling up their bodies. Abigail, with the help of our FUTP 60 team, now provides healthy snack options for students during the morning. This snack cart has just taken off and the students are eating it up (literally) ! The students are also learning how to make healthier choices and our student leaders are leading!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Our students came up with the idea and our administration helped them get it up and running. The greatest part is that the students are doing the work and they love it.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We have 7th grade student leaders who are helping and will take all of the responsibility next year when the 8th graders move to high school. The 7th grade leaders are ready and excited to have the opportunity to make it even better next year.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Our students are eating healthier and are fueling up for the day so that they have energy to be successful!
