Breakfast For Everyone — First Meal Matters
Success with Funds
Our school applied for Fuel UP to Play 60 Funds and a School Nutrition Equipment grant. With the funding received, we were able to start a grab and go breakfast program for our middle/high school. Our students have loved having this option. Tardiness has decreased and our students are engaging more with others in the morning. We purchased insulated bags, milk barrels, and items for breakfast serving. The funds were well spent in items that will last for years.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We had all administration on board for starting our Grab and Go program. The plan was submitted and started without a problem.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

By purchasing equipment that we can use for years, we will be able to keep this program going.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

We have less tardiness, more meal participation, and more interaction with our students.
