We are conducting a "Create a Dairy Do! Recipe" challenge. Students are being asked to create a healthy snack recipe using a dairy product as one of the ingredients. The students will detail ingredients needed, method to make the product and a picture of them holding the finished product. We will be announcing a winning recipe based on ingredient usage, health impact, creativity and taste.The winning recipe will be featured in our weekly communication and the student will be honored at our Good Morning Shawnee Trail assembly. We would like to take all recipes and include them in an assembled cookbook for each parent to download at home.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Parents will naturally need to be involved in creating the recipe and executing the assembly/cooking/baking.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

The chosen recipe might also be used at a Family Fun Night - assembled by the PTA.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

The challenges we will face are communication and marketing of this opportunity on multiple fronts. In addition, the challenge may be students being able to participate, due to lack of support at home. There might need to be some education on recipes, provide initial ideas of where to look for inspiration and how to ensure it's a healthy choice.
