Our student engagement during the flag football unit has been on the rise. Students are super excited every year for this program. Every time they touch a Fuel Up to Play 60 football or put on one of those colorful flag belts it's a sense of pride.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Teachers are proud to teach the skills necessary to shape our students into confident flag footballers. Teachers use positive reinforcement to encourage participation no matter what skill level is being seen. Teachers at the end of the unit will become a player and play with the kids. The students always love to intercept a teacher's thrown ball. By teachers and students working together, anything is possible!

What improvements have you seen at your school?

The best improvement is class participation. Students have increased engagement and participation. The curriculum guide for flag football has been another. By teaching the drills and skills, students are eager to learn and move throughout each lesson.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We could not have done anything without the support of the kids and the staff. Our school is committed to the excellence and academic achievements of all learners.
