Jefferson Elementary Fit Club
Come one come all to the Jefferson Elementary Fit Club! All students in grades Kinder through 5th (ages 5-12) are invited to join our after school club. Jefferson Fit Club encourages students to be physically active for 60 minutes by starting off with a 20-30 minute outdoor run/jog followed by an indoor exercise circuit. Our 8 station circuit consists of aerobic and anaerobic activities such as jumping jacks, push-up position cup stacks, mountain climbers, hula hoops, horizontal, vertical, jogging the gym perimeter, jump ropes, push-ups, curl ups, as well as others. The stations are chosen by which areas of the body will be targeted for that day. This school year round club draws 60-100 students every week. The students stay active and are getting physically fit without realizing they are doing so, due to the fun, fast-paced club. Want to be physically fit? Join the Jefferson Elementary Fit Club!

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We encourage students to continue to be physically active for 60 minutes throughout the week on their own.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We accomplished our goals by making rigorous physical activity fast-paced and fun.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

We have seen students encourage each other to be physically active as well as an increase in endurance and strength in students.
