On October 27th 2016, Slater Middle school completed its 1st annual Jersey Jog to raise money for the Great American Milk drive in conjunction with #Dmacgivesback Challenge. Students were tasked with coming up with an idea on how we could raise funds for the Dmac challenge, they decided on doing a 1 mile fun run. Students wanted to tie in Fuel Up To Play 60 by naming the run the Jersey Jog and inviting all the participants to wear their favorite jerseys during the event. Students created posters and a T-shirt to promote the event throughout the school. The cost to participate in the run was $5.00. On the day of the event, we had over 100 students and staff participate in jog. It was great to see the students and community (volunteers included the Pawtucket police department & Aramark Food service) come together as a group and run a wonderful event.
