Physical Activity Participation

For the first time this year, our school sponsored a Jingle Bell Run during the last week of school before Christmas break. Every student in the school participated. They came outside and ran for 15-20 while Christmas music was playing in the background. It was also designed to be a fundraiser for our PTA. The students got sponsors to pay them for participating. Parents came out and cheered on their child, as did all the teachers and administration. Several teachers ran with their class. It was a very successful day and one that we're sure to repeat!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Everyone was outside together participating in the run. Different grade levels were assigned different times to come out, so the teachers watched the clock and came when it was their time. The PTA volunteers came early to help set up the course outside.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

I plan to continue having a Jingle Bell Run at our school every December. It was fun and very much a success!
