The student leaders had a meeting to promote a smoothie taste test that was going to be held during our Fuel Up to Play 60 Kickoff. The students designed posters promoting the taste test, along with the date and location. They also created posters for the students to place a sticker on whether they "Loved It," "Liked It," or "No Thanks." A "Fitness Fact" and "Nutrition Tidbit" were read each day during the week of our Kickoff, along with Fuel Up to Play 60 videos promoting physical activity. The Fuel Up to Play 60 prizes and the smoothie taste test were the culminating activities for our Kickoff. All students had the opportunity to try a smoothie and give feedback. If a student found a sticker under their milk carton, they were awarded a prize from the Fuel Up to Play 60 prize packs.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

This Play will be continued all school year through weekly fitness fact or nutrition tidbit announcements. The smoothies were added to the breakfast menu and will be available on Thursday mornings.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The adults provide the direction on what the end goal is while the students give us a "middle school" perspective on what their peers' needs are.
