Sherman Elementary School had a school wide dance party that ended with a Mannequin Challenge. All fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students participated in an afternoon full of physical activity. The afternoon began with the annual Jump Rope for Heart showdown, where the students gave all of their efforts and jumped non-stop for almost 2 hours. At the end of the showdown, and as a kick off for Fuel Up to Play 60, we had a cool down Dance Party and ended the afternoon with a Mannequin Challenge. It was a great Friday afternoon had by all staff and students.

How did you accomplish your goals?

I knew that the Jump Rope for Heart showdown was the perfect opportunity to have our kickoff. I knew that all upper grade level students would be together. The upper grade level students are my leaders and my mentors to the primary students. They help the primary grade children understand the importance of Fuel Up, being active, and eating healthy.
