Our FUTP 60 student team hosted a segment on our school news every Friday morning. Our “FIT Friday” announcements helped to educate our students about the importance of making healthy eating choices and being active for 60 minutes a day.

How did you accomplish your goals?

Our goal is to educate our students about the importance of making healthy choices when it comes to eating and staying active. Through short segments on our announcements, we were able to give tips on healthy eating and exercise to our entire student body. It also helped our FUTP 60 team to take ownership of the program and see how they can be good role models for the younger students.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." This quote by Nelson Mandela is quite true. Giving students the knowledge needed to make their own healthy choices will go a lot further in the long run than taking away choices altogether. Students are capable of understanding their own health and how choices they make can affect it. Empowering them to make healthy choices can help them to change their world and the world around them.
