Physical Activity Participation
With permission from administration, I was able to begin an after school All Sports Club. The club focused on students in grades 5-8 and it was a huge success. Skill level did not matter. Only the drive to keep playing and moving for an hour after school 2 days a week did. After the first session, I noticed that the students were hungry and we began allowing healthy snacking during club time. Students still enjoy coming to the club, even in the last week of school.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

The students targeted are totally bought in. They would like me to expand the program next school year with more activities.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

From the initial sign up time until release to come on down to the gym, we all worked together to provide students with the opportunity to keep moving and having fun.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Students that are part of the after school program have bonded and formed a better working relationship with one another.
