Student Leadership

Each new school year the students of Jefferson Elementary take the Fuel Up to Play 60 Pledge to lead a healthy life. It becomes the mission statement for the physical education class, and every student signs the banner which hangs in the gym. Students are constantly reminded throughout the school day through announcements, posters, newsletters, events, classes about their pledge and what they can do to continue to lead a healthy lifestyle. Students share their knowledge at home so it can go beyond just the school day.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Students try to track their minutes of daily physical activity in hopes of reaching 60 every day. Students have been more responsible in the lunch room and make an effort to eat fruit, vegetables and drink milk each day at lunch.
