Our FUTP 60 student leadership team planned and executed a wonderful kickoff assembly back in November. With the use of technology, two students made an informational video, educating the other students on how to get signed up. Everyone on the team had a speaking part in the remainder of the kickoff, which talked about the benefits of the program and the ease of the website. It was a motivating morning that was even more exciting with our NFL team mascot Rory! We added a school wide Cha Cha Slide which got everyone (staff included) up and moving. The kids could not have been happier with the end product. I was and am a proud teacher/coach. I see all that my students have gotten from the program, as well as all they have still to learn.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Planning, preparing and rehearsing worked because we did it together. Everyone leaned to value one another's contribution to a successful kickoff.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We followed the kickoff with poster making to keep the energy flowing and remind students throughout the school to log on, create an account and be part of our school team.
