Kidder Fuel Up Kick-Off

Our Fuel Up Kick-Off was a success involving students, teachers and a guest speaker who is a College Men's Basketball Coach at a nearby university. We played games and watched two videos about being active. We also listened to a motivational talk about being the best in all parts of your life, including your physical activity, sleep and eating habits. Many of our students were involved in the kick-off. We had jump ropers, cardio drummers, and basketball dribblers. It was a great way to get the students thinking about their next step to Fueling Up and Playing 60 each day.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students and teachers each played a part in the assembly. Both took part in the activities, either by leading them or participating in them.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

We wanted to get as many students involved as possible in the assembly. We needed to make sure we used all different students and not just the athletes.

How did you accomplish your goals?

Program Advisor and counselors came together to plan the assembly. Many teachers volunteered and then we found a variety of students to participate.
