We just had a Kids Heart Challenge Kickoff in our cafeteria. Next week we have planned an activity each day. Classes will be challenged each day. We will be using videos, virtual tours and lessons from the NFL Play 60 Challenge website. It was all part of an effort to raise $500 for the American Heart Association. Monday: Roadmap to a healthy heart Tuesday: Heart Rate Challenge Wednesday: Cool Down Challenge Thursday: Cardio Challenge Friday: Nutrition Challenge

How did students and adults work together as a team?

We have one student that is making announcements each day. She shares fact about the heart. The SWAT helped create a poster and events for each day of the week.

How did you accomplish your goals?

Our school SHAC worked together with the American Heart Association, our teacher, SWAT members and our families to raise money.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We plan to continue this Play every year. It is growing each year. Next year we plan to have more opportunities for students to register online as well as more school-wide activities during the challenge week.
