Kids Love Football
I have implemented the NFL Flag Football curriculum at my school and the kids love it! I am a 27 year veteran teacher, yet I have learned so many new and engaging games and drills. The biggest challenge as of yet is teaching the kids how to put on the belts....ha ha. My students love the games so much they are becoming much more active and not realizing that they are moving for longer and longer periods of time. We love the equipment and will continue our unit on Flag Football for several more weeks. Fun Fun Fun!

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We revisit all sports that we teach through out the year. Flag Football is one that the kids ask to play over and over. We always stress safety and sportsmanship. The Flag Football curriculum is very thoughtful when it comes to those topics. We will play it for years to come.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

Kids are so excited about all the new games and challenges they can get a bit rambunctious and intense , but in reality the biggest challenge for them is to put on the belts properly. It takes quite a bit of time.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

One cool piece was that once I teach them how to put on the belts, they help each other finish the task. Not all the children have the patience or dexterity to put the belts on properly, so the kids work together so all are ready to play at the same time.
