Kids Take Charge

FUTP 60 Team is made up of 30 students. On a monthly rotation, 5-6 students are selected from the overall team to plan weekly activities and games for the rest of the team and the entire school. The leadership group organizes one recess activity per week, a before-school activity group one day a week, and a FUTP 60 Team activity once per week. Students love taking the team's routine and activity planning into their own hands and have done an excellent job working together to see their ideas put into action.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

Initially, finding the time for 30 students from different classes to meet and plan how to structure our team was our biggest challenge. Once we got our plan in place, the students started making the program their own.
