Kimball Kick Off 2019-2020
We combined our FUTP Kickoff this year with National Walk to School Day!! We had ALL of our students (even car riders) walking to school. We set up a drop off spot for car riders to meet at and had teachers walking with them to make it safe. We had high school athletes and cheerleaders there to show support. All the students went to the cafeteria for some fruit and cheese to start their day! The whole school was excited to Fuel Up to Play 60 and celebrated by being active and having a healthy snack that day!

How did you accomplish your goals?

Communication! We talked about the event during PE, on the announcements and the FUTP team made posters! We invited the community and had a lot of support

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

Time and money. It's always hard to pay for the extra snacks, so using grant money often helps. And the time it takes to get the word out and the time it takes for the volunteers and teachers to take away from their regular day is often a struggle. Our principal let all the teachers who volunteered wear workout clothes this day!!!
