Access to Healthy Foods

Our school has a passion for fun but without the funds. As a Kinder Knight Team, we had a Kinder Health and Fitness Fair. We had about 10 community businesses come and promote why their business supports a healthy and active lifestyle. Students got to sample locally grown and made products as well as get information about all of the parks and recreation activities available. I think the kids had the most fun with the Zumba and 15 activity fitness challenge. Students had to complete 15 fitness activities to be entered to win some great Fuel Up to Play 60 prizes. The night was a huge success with about 100 people participating and learning about great community connections. We look forward to doing another Health and Fitness night next year with more community support!

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Our school has really embraced the Fuel Up to Play 60 mindset. Students are making healthier choices and are more aware of their eating/activity choices and the gains that they get because of them!
