Kindergarten Yoga Basics!

We have a special PE Block on certain days - we call this time "Mind and Body" - we use this time to reinforce all of the fitness principles and enhance specific skills. One of these ways is via our Kinder Yoga program - where we teach very basic yoga poses and then progress to more advanced ones. We use special mats with pose pictures and attempt to build a common knowledge and comfort in doing yoga. We feel that this helps our Kindergarten classes begin their day with a little different approach and learn to appreciate the value of yoga and all it has to offer!

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We plan to incorporate this into our Mind and Body program time at least one time per month, reinforcing the yoga principles and building upon the poses.
