Our school is on year three of our school garden. This year, we got to use our herbs to make pizza, our veggies to make soups or as a salad bar option. The kids love knowing they grew some of the food on their tray and are more likely to try it to see if they like it. We have a great kitchen staff that has bought into the "Garden to Tray challenge. I can't wait to see what we do next year...sneak peek is a green house.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

We worked together with our community and volunteers to put our garden into play. Lowe's partnered with us in a grant and away we flew. The responsibility is shared throughout the school and during the summer months. We have high schools students who also volunteer to come help our kids with prep for the garden, plant, weed, water and winterize

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

This plan will definitely continue beyond these few years. We are planning a green house effort so that we can "garden to tray" all year long.
