Lamar Middle School and Elementary Fuel Up with Local Heroes

Local dignitaries were invited to eat breakfast with the Fuel Up to Play 60 Ambassadors and other students to help kick off their Healthy Eating Play. The message was sent that eating a healthy breakfast helps fuel up students to learn better. Our local representative, superintendent, two principals, high school athletes, and Program Advisor were present to promote the hero's breakfast.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The Ambassadors and adults helped get the message out that it is important to eat a healthy breakfast.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We will do class lessons on the food groups and how they need to eat a good breakfast each morning. We will do public service announcements and talk to the classrooms.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

Getting the program organized so that our local representative could be here. We scheduled the program to fit her schedule.
