Physical Activity Participation

Leisure City K-8 got a late start but is coming on strong after pulling together with the help of student council members and dedicated teachers. We have started the 100 Mile Club (Leisure City Walkers) as well as our nutriution club. Each week we are reaching more students to become more active and better choice makers when it comes to nutriution.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

It was a challenge in the beginning because of communication issues; that was resolved when the nutrition members and club sponsor collaborated on plans of getting the word out more effectively through the science and physical education classes.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

With the collaboration of the student council and the nutrition club working together, along with the site adviser. We come together to brain storm ideas on the best course to take in order to get full participation.
